All right, we have a little free time at the back end of a vacation, let's finally wrap up the rest of this issue.
To start the second half of the book, we find out that Broxton didn't take the Green Hornet's interference in his schemes very well.
The next morning, while everyone is enjoying breakfast, district attorney Diana Reid appears on television to pledge to capture the Green Hornet now that he appears to have resurfaced after years of inactivity.
Nice wrinkle here. Diana is the daughter of the original Green Hornet, Britt sr. While pretending to be determined to capture the Hornet, we learn that she is in on the family secret and helping in her own way.
Diana and Britt II compare notes after a family dinner.
While they speculate that Jackknife Devane is back in business, the boys (Alan and Paul) stumble into something cool in the back of the estate.
Diana is correct. The Hornet and Kato head to Devane's house and force their way in.
Jackknife Devane is ranting to his son David about the Hornet ruining his plans when the crime-fighting duo suddenly appears in his living room. David thinks he's going to escort them out, but instead Kato drops him to the floor with one well-placed punch.
Suspicions confirmed, leave they do. They have barely stepped outside when...
The two are about to investigate, when...
Damn, okay. Can't say I saw THAT coming.
The next day's Sentinel reports on the death of Devane and Britt Reid II's heart attack. Dave Devane accuses the Hornet of murder and swears revenge against the vigilante.
A lot going on! Probably won't be long until I get into the next issue.
